Aviation Print - River Rattlers in Diamond Formation
Aviation Print - River Rattlers in Diamond Formation
McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet
By Timothy Paul Smith Photography
Print Description:
This aviation print, titled “Snakes in Diamond!,” captures “River 2” leading a four-ship F/A-18C Hornet diamond formation inbound to show center during the 2020 New Orleans Airshow at NAS JRB New Orleans. Flown by Strike Fighter Squadron 204 (VFA-204) “River Rattlers,” this performance marked the squadron’s final public appearance in the Legacy Hornet — a graceful farewell to a storied aircraft and a proud chapter in Louisiana naval aviation. Known for their precision, professionalism, and Gulf Coast roots, the River Rattlers delivered a formation flight that honored their heritage and captivated the hometown crowd. This print is a tribute to the elegance, discipline, and legacy of the “Mighty Rattlers.”
