This aviation print features Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II S/N 11-5032 from the 58th Fighter Squadron “Mighty Gorillas” on twilight landing approach at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Captured on June 20, 2019, the aircraft is shown with gear down and landing light illuminated, descending through the fading light of a Gulf Coast evening. The 58th FS became the Department of Defense’s first F-35 Lightning II training squadron on October 1, 2009, and carries a proud legacy from its Gulf War performance, where it earned the motto: “When Gorillas fly, MiGs die, RAGE!”
