The United States Air Force F‑35A Lightning II Demonstration Team showcases the world’s most advanced fifth‑generation fighter jet. The Lockheed Martin F‑35 Lightning II is a stealthy, multi‑role aircraft built for air‑to‑air combat and air‑to‑ground missions in all weather conditions. It is designed to strike heavily defended targets while staying hidden from enemy detection.
The F‑35A was created to replace the Air Force’s fleet of F‑16 Fighting Falcons. With its powerful engines, aerodynamic design, and advanced integrated avionics, the Lightning II offers next‑generation stealth, improved situational awareness, and greater survivability in high‑threat environments. These features make it one of the most capable fighters used by the United States and its allies.
Each year, the F‑35 Demonstration Team performs at about 20 airshows across the United States, flying an 18‑minute routine that highlights the aircraft’s speed, agility, and precision. The team also flies with the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation, pairing the F‑35 with historic aircraft to honor the Air Force’s past and present. The team represents the professionalism, skill, and dedication of the Airmen who fly, maintain, and support this remarkable aircraft.
